In June 2020, Salix Resource Management Ltd. (Salix) and NorthWind Land Resources Inc. (NorthWind) biologists combined forces to complete a multi-day biophysical assessment for a proposed pipeline installation on the Blood Timber Limits within the Montane subregion of Southwestern Alberta.
This biophysical assessment provided information necessary to author an Environmental Review Form for Indian Oil and Gas Canada (IOGC) prior to project approval. As a result of the assessment, mitigation was required for several sensitive status amphibian species.
In September 2020, Salix and Northwind biologists worked alongside Blood First Nations members to install of amphibian fencing and pitfall traps prior to the proposed linear construction project.
